History of the Ministry

Church History

In 1988 during the Wintercamp-meeting in Jerusalem Alabama, Minister Bobby Felder was appointed by the Bishop S. D. James to move to Jackson, Mississippi to lead a people desiring to be a part of the Evangelistic Pentecostal ministry. In February of 1989, Pastor Felder relocated to Jackson, Mississippi, moving from Bryan, Texas where he served as a member and minister of the Endtime Evangelistic Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop M.C. Williams for a little more than ten (10) years. The Evangelistic Pentecostal Church (EPC) was established in Jackson, Mississippi in 1989.

Pastor B.E. Felder and the saints began worshiping on Watkins Drive in the home of a faithful member for roughly two months before moving to a church on Martin Luther King. Evagelistic Pentecoastal Church remained at this location rom 1989-1994. In 1993, due to the owners of the property  being ready to sell, the search began for a new and better location.

The church's next move was to a small building on West Ridgeway street. In 1994 in faith, EPC purchased one acre of land (which it still owns today) on Welota Drive with plans to build a wonderful place of worship. After the blue print was drawn up and plans were made to begin building, Pastor Felder envisioned that this was not the place. Through prayer, it was determined that the church should continue to search for property. During this process, the congregation moved to North State Street (2000) and began worshiping there.

After leaving Wintercamp-meeting in January 2003, and hearing the Word of God spoken by our Senior Bishop and Apostle S.D. James, Pastor Felder declared that this would be the year to purchase and move. In February of this year, after talking to a realtor about a potential piece of property, our pastor was directed to go and look at it. Although directed to visit a potential property, God lead him to our current location on Highway 18 South.

The contract was consumated in March and the renovation began and still continues to this day. The name of the church has since been amended to become Covenant Evangelistic Pentecostal Church (Covenant EPC).
